IN OUR PRAYERS As Maria’s son, Davood and his wife, Paratsoo, continue to wait for action on their refugee claim, we pray, Almighty and merciful God,whose Son became a refugee and had no place to call his own;look with mercy on those who seek to flee from danger, especially Davood and Paratsoo..Bless those who work to bring them relief; especially CLWR,inspire generosity and compassion in all our hearts;and guide the nations of the world towards that day when all will rejoice in your Kingdom of justice and of peace;through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. We continue to pray for those affected by wildfires. Merciful Father in heaven, our strength in times of despair, be with all who have lost their homes to wildfires, comfort them in their distress, strengthen them for the uncertain journey ahead, sustain them with Your loving embrace, and grant that they may find a sense of home once again through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen. We also continue to pray for those suffering from the Russian/Ukrainian War. Gracious God, heavenly Father, You know how the events in Russia and the Ukraine have moved our hearts. We feel helpless before the evil that affects our brothers & sisters in Christ, so therefore we cry out to You, on their behalf, that they may find comfort, shelter, and protection. Mercifully embrace the frightened in Your love, empower the weak with Your strength, restrain the wicked by your might, and preserve the righteous in Your grace, giving us your peace, through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen. We pray for God’s servant, Pastor Mayan, as he undergoes surgery next week. Lord Jesus Christ, hear our prayers on behalf of Your servant, Pastor Mayan, as he undergoes surgery this week. Bless him with continued faith in Your loving-kindness and protection. Endow the surgeon and the medical team with ability and skill so that, according to Your will, this surgery may bring Your servant to a full restoration of health and strength; for You live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen. I encourage our membership to pray these prayers throughout the week. If you have a specific prayer need and would like me to provide a written prayer to include in a future update please send me your request. Prayers spoken, either on your own, in families or corporate worship is an important part of congregational life. FAITH LUTHERAN (SURREY): Our neighboring LCC congregation issued a call to Rev. Vic Esperanza in Delta. He has accepted their call and will be installed Sunday, June 22, at 2 p.m. Our membership is invited to celebrate with them at Pastor Esperanza’s Installation service. Circuit pastors will participate in the service. God’s Blessings,Pastor Johnson
